Macaloney's Distillery and Brewery also took Best Canadian Single Malt at the 2026 World Whiskies Awards and Single Malt Whisky of the Year at the 2026 Canadian Whisky Awards

VICTORIA, BC. Macaloney's Distillery and Brewery is confirming Triple Take as the current name of the whisky named World's Best Pot Still at the 2023 World Whiskies Awards. Triple Take was released as Kildara Signature Selection when it won. The liquid is unchanged, and the award carries over to Triple Take.

Triple Take is a triple distilled pot still whisky made in Victoria from British Columbia barley on hand forged Forsyth copper pot stills from Speyside, Scotland. At the 2023 World Whiskies Awards it was also named Best Canadian Pot Still. The final bottles under the original Kildara label are being sold through at the distillery.

The distillery's 2026 results add to that record:

  • World Whiskies Awards 2026: Best Canadian Single Malt, entered as Peat Project Washington Peat with Sugar Kelp, Portuguese Red Wine Cask
  • World Whiskies Awards 2026: Best Canadian Single Cask Single Malt, entered as Peat Project Washington Peat with Sugar Kelp, ex Bourbon Cask
  • Icons of Whisky 2026: global Craft Distiller or Blender of the Year, awarded to Dr. Graeme Macaloney
  • Canadian Whisky Awards 2026: Single Malt Whisky of the Year for Harvest Coast, entered as The Peat Project: Harvest Coast, plus the Award of Excellence in Product Innovation and six gold medals

"Triple Take is the same whisky that took World's Best Pot Still in 2023, now under the name it'll carry from here on," said Margaret Rygiel, CEO of Macaloney's Distillery and Brewery. "This year's results say the rest of the range is earning its place right alongside it, and we'd love people to come taste it where it's made."

The core range is Buzz Cut, Triple Take, Truth Serum, Bang Sauce, Harvest Coast and River Pirate. All are available at the distillery and online at macaloneys.com.
