You weren't looking for the beach. You were just walking - bare feet, old growth overhead, cedar and damp earth rising with every step. Then the trees thinned, the ground softened, and there it was. Cold Pacific water. Salt air. A horizon you didn't know was coming. Vancouver Island has a way of doing that.

This is what it feels like in a glass. Towering coastal pines and rich, sweet sherry notes lead the way, before giving over to a gentle drift of peat smoke and a crisp seabreeze finish.

The creamy Sherried palate has blackcurrants, papaya, dried apricot, sultanas and candied fruits, with wood smoke, lapsang souchong tea, geranium flowers and blooming heather, leading to liquorice, dried ginger, hazelnut and roasted almonds. It finishes with lingering sweet Sherry and bonfire embers, seaweed and salt carried on the ocean breeze.

No colour added. Non-chill filtered.

Distilled, matured and bottled in Victoria, British Columbia.

Just another miracle from MBD. Delicious single malt with good depth, palate and finish. Yet another staple to add to your collection. This distillery just does not miss - they take some big swings, but they always connect. If you haven't tried this bottle, just go for it. You'll be very pleased. Tell your friends. And then they'll tell their friends. It's just that good.
