The Peat Project Single Cask Series won the 2026 Canadian Whisky Award of Excellence in Product Innovation

Distilled using local British Columbia barley, peat-smoked at our distillery to 54 ppm with local peat from the Olympic Peninsula, it was then fully matured in a carefully selected Virgin American Oak cask, blanketed with fresh maritime island air.

Wood smoke and pine forest on the nose, opens to sandalwood, cigar box, new leather, toffee fudge and fresh-baked sponge cake with honeycomb and coconut.

The velvety palate with natural oils has sweet oak, bonfire, and a plethora of fruit including apricot, gooseberry, mixed dried peel, dried figs, and lemon tart.

This opens to sweet pea flowers, dried tobacco leaf, fennel, linseed oil, brazil nut and rum, finishing with lingering bonfire, sweet oak, vanilla and a hint of salt.

No colour added. Non-chill filtered.

Distilled, matured and bottled in Victoria, British Columbia.

Actually rivaling many of my 50+ different expressions of Islay peated whiskies! Well done MacAloney’s Distillery! Keep up your great distilling of very fine whisky!

Excellent value, always in our cabinet and welcomed by our friends. A fine dram with full flavour and medium peat. Excellent on a summer evening with a good bowl of fine tobacco, or a toasty cigar.

This is really good whisky. Smooth and easy to drink, but with enough bite to remind you what you are drinking. Wish I could find it in the States.

A sip of this whisky always makes me want to light up a cigar. This whisky's taste profile has that deep, sweet almost leathery taste akin to a cigar that turns into a nice fruit. Highly recommended.

Very enjoyable peatiness on the nose and palate, but it would have benefited from one more year of aging. That would smooth out the initial bite on the tongue, and improve the length of the very pleasant lingering vanilla notes.
