Full cask only · built from scratch to your spec · distilled on a scheduled run at our Saanich distillery

Design a whisky that has never existed. Choose your distillation (classic double or triple distilled on our Forsyth copper pot stills), your peating (unpeated, or peated with British Columbia barley we smoke ourselves) and your cask. We distill your spirit on a scheduled distillation run and fill it into your cask, where it's held in bond in our warehouse while it matures. Limited insurance is included while your cask is in our warehouse. Ask us for the details.

One price covers the spirit, the cask and 3 years of storage in our warehouse. That takes it to whisky: by law it isn't whisky in Canada until it has spent at least 3 years in wood. If you choose to age it longer, storage is $300 a year, billed annually from the end of year 3. When it's ready, we bottle it under your label on a bottling day at the distillery.

The $3,000 shown is your deposit. It secures your place on a distillation run. It's fully refundable until we lock your spec and place your order. At that point you sign your cask agreement, the deposit becomes non-refundable, and it's credited to the full price of your cask. We confirm your spec, cask size and full price in your design session, and invoice the balance by EFT.

Included: a design session with our distilling team, custom label design, a barrel head plaque in your name, a bottling day at the distillery and a first pour event for your guests.

Available to buyers in Canada. If you're outside Canada, email info@macaloneys.com before you reserve and we'll talk it through with you. Cask types depend on what's in our cooperage at the time of your run. Private casks are whisky to drink, gift and share.
