We laid this cask down seven years ago and promptly forgot about it in the darkest corner of the maturation room. While its friends were out getting bottled, this solitary butt was quietly turning into something weird, wonderful, and totally unexpected. Dive into a velvety hug of distant campfire smoke, sticky marmalade, and dark chocolate-roasted almonds, ending with an unapologetic sherry kick. Turns out, a little ghosting does a whisky good.

This perfect after-dinner dram has distant campfire, sandalwood incense, Sherry, dried fruits, and treacle toffee on the nose. The palate is rich and velvety, with lovely bonfire notes, sultanas, prunes, figs, and delicate sun-dried PX grape notes. These develop into cocoa powder, dark chocolate-roasted almonds, marmalade, warming wood spices, including cloves and nutmeg, and dark molasses. The finish is dry, with lingering Sherry wine, light smoke, and oak spices.

No colour added. Non-chill filtered.
