I'm new to Macaloney's Distillery.I tried the Cath Nah Aven recently and was quite surprised by the quality of this whiskey.I have only drank scotch for the last 35 years.I am now a Canadian Single Malt convert.I love the story of Macaloney's and the whiskey.I suggest all scotch drinkers try this Canadian gem.

A great sherry bomb whiskey. When I compare it to the original bottlings of it's predecessor which had to be renamed, it is only lacks a slightly less depth of flavour and mouth filling explosion I remember. The original had a full flavoured finish that went of forever. This finish is great but not as re-memorable as the original.

Excellent dram filled with notes of red berries and a solid ginger and pepper finish.

Lovely! On opening the bottle, I got a Luxardo cherry note right away. I'm also getting raisins, red fruits, sugared plums, and some baking spice. A blind battle with GlenAllachie 12-year came out in a tie.

Great nose and up front sherry explosion on the first taste. Good, long lasting sherry characteristics in the middle, but the oak is a bit too heavy and slightly bitter in the finish.
